Lesson 2: Switchers

Switchers are a necessary tool for defenders in order to maximize the number of defending operations which can be completed in a single update.

This is how you create switchers:

1. Create a new nation. The game permits players to own as many nations as they wish. The name can be anything you want. Some players choose to number their switcher set, while others prefer to show off their creativity.
   
2. Go to your nation's settings (https://www.nationstates.net/page=settings) and add an e-mail address to your nation. Ensure you use the same e-mail address for all nations that you create. This will prevent you from accidentally joining the World Assembly multiple times, which is against the game rules.
   
3. Go to the World Assembly page (https://www.nationstates.net/page=un) and apply the nation to join the World Assembly. Do not admit to the World Assembly yet, only apply.
   
4. Move the nation to the region Artificial Solar System. This region updates late and is used as a staging point for all defender operations.
   
5. Repeat until you have the number of switchers you desire.
   

The ideal number of nations to create as a newcomer would be around 5 to 10. You can create more as you gain more experience.
